"I started following your page about a year ago because I love Alpine goats. I have had Nubians and Boers also but by far the Alpine is the best to train and their temperaments have always been great. So my daughter Megan and I came to visit during her spring break in April of this year, did the baby goat experience and ended up coming home with 2 (Valent and Turpentine).
I knew when I got him that he would make a great Animal Assisted Therapy goat!
I all ready have a therapy cat. Cheeto and I have been working as a team at Ohio's Hospice in Dayton Ohio, Sensitive Bunny, Warrior weekend to Remember etc....for 2 years.
I wanted to add to my crew so (Valent) Tagalong and I started going to Dogtors Animal Assisted Therapy classes 10 weeks ago. We passed our assessment test and he is now Certified!!!
I work in a very busy Cancer center we are so busy that I don't have time to spend with my patients like we used to. So i love giving back by spending my evenings and weekends going to visit Hospice patients, and other public events.
Tagalong is going to be a great addition to my team. He was invited to do a Sensitive Santa event for Autistic children and asked to be the Mascot for The Shining stars softball league for mentally and physically disabled children.
I think his name of Tagalong relates to many or how they feel. I have a cancer patient who has been calling himself Tagalong since he found out his name months ago.
It is such a blessing to be able to give back with my fur babies. The animals really understand others emotions and provide such comfort to these patients in their last moments. It also helps the families as well!
You can follow Tagalong on Facebook at (Tag a long with Tagalong AAT) and he is certified through (Dogtors aat).
I just want to say thank you! By following your GMS FB I really enjoy your family, your beliefs, your gardening , recipes and the Farm and the way all your children are learning real life which I believe will take them much farther in life that sitting in a school. You have unknowingly inspired me to do more with my life!
PS my daughter's goat (Turpentine) Stacy is doing great too. The barn therapy is great for her and our family!❤"
